What started as a gloomy day for the Vijayakanth family turned out to be nightmarish for Vadivelu. Wondering about the connection between the two? Saligramam, a posh locality in Chennai, witnessed some ugly scenes yesterday when a group of Vijayakanth's relatives and Vadivelu ended up almost in fisticuffs.

It all started when Vijayakanth'srelatives paid a visit to his sister's house for her husband's obsequies.Incidentally the house is situated adjacent to that of Vadivelu's residence.The comedian returned home to find a few cars parked blocking his entry to his home. This is said to have irked the actor who started hurling abuses in Madurai slang. Unfortunately for him, the group there also belonged to Madurai and was, therefore, quick to grasp the meaning, which

is said have been aimed at Vijayakanth himself.

This eventually led to a clash following which a complaint was registered at the Virugambakkam police station. Sources say that his abusive language continued at the police station too.

During investigation it was found that the actor was in an inebriated state following which he was detained there until 2 AM. When Vadivelu regained his senses he is said have understood the trouble he had caused and has given a written apology to Vijayakanth.
